The RCHS boys concluded a super season by placing 11th in the state of California in division 1. Rancho scored 290 points to edge out Southern Section rival Burroughs of Burbank by 1. RCHS was the 6th best team from the Southern Section and was only 14 points out of 10th. The Cougars were led by sophomore Darius Riley who clocked 15:47 for 36th place to lead the squad. Riley’s time was the tenth fastest among sophomores in the entire state meet. Joey Rutherford Del Valle was the next Cougar at 16:01 for 54th place followed by Daniel Dolen (84th 16:19), Chris Weiland (98th 16:25)and Daniel Chavez (102nd 16:27) to round out the scoring five. Jacob Burch was 109th at 16:31 and Eliot Sanchez was 178th at 17:37 to complete the team of seven. The Cougars finished the season ranked 14th out of all teams in the state in the Dyestatcal poll. Things look promising for next year as the Cougars return Riley, Rutherford Del Valle and Weiland plus a handful of other underclassmen who could help the Cougars make it back to Fresno in 2016.
